Acid Reflux

Doctor’s Tips:  Support with supplements which heal the lining of the stomach, contain enzymes to break down the food, additionally stop the fermentation that results in excessive acid, and remove the bacteria at the bottom of the situation.

Use Magnesium supplements and completly avoiding caffeinated substances can help.  Have a doctor check for a hiatal hernia as well.

Our gut is exposed to many pathogens, including h.pylori, daily. A healthy stomach sufficient in hydrochloric acid (HCl) destroys pathogens as soon as they enter. It’s estimated that 90 percent of Americans are deficient in HCl, and that h.pylori can be found in 50 percent of the world’s population, so it’s easy to see why this may be the most common infectious disease worldwide. Not to mention that most, if not all, chronic users of antacids harbor excess h.pylori.

There is a cause of this very common symptom of burning pain felt internally around the lower chest area, caused by stomach acid flowing back up into the food pipe. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD or GORD for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease) is acid reflux more than twice a week.

Also critical is the link between helicobacter pylori infection and acid reflux. H.pylori, a bacterium unique in its ability to survive the highly acidic environment of the stomach, is best known for causing peptic ulcers, gastritis, and duodenitis. What’s less known, however, is that h.pylori also destroys vascular tissue; autopsies are turning up h.pylori in the lesions of stroke and heart attack victims. To rid the body of this infection is sometimes difficult.

Our experience with h.pylori  has been to treat all members of the family, avoid chicken and eggs and use one or more of the supplements below until symptoms are removed. Many times the infection gives false negatives in our opinion (with blood and other testing) and can be treated symptomatically with good results.

Here are the  supplements we use most frequently:

For  H.pylori – Reishi Supreme,  Thorne- Pepti Guard or Apex – H PLR
For HCl- (HydroChloric Acid)   Thorne Betaine/Pepsin
